Bachelor Nation saw Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple fall in love and get engaged on the very first season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”
Since their time on the show, the two have been spending time together in their respective hometowns and traveling the world together.
The couple recently opened up about why planning their wedding isn’t a priority right now.
And now, Joan is addressing the rumors in an interview online about her already being secretly married to Chock.
Some fans have speculated that the Golden couple might have secretly tied the knot, to which Joan reassured that she would never do that due to the fans’ investment into their love story.
“My relationship with the viewers is, I mean, paramount. It honestly is. I’m so grateful that people watch the show,” she said. “I feel really kind of responsible to that. Chock and I, they watched this whole journey, they invested in us. You see on Instagram they are wondering, did we get married? They are watching what we are doing and I would never leave them at the door. I feel like just because the show is over, the door shouldn’t be shut.”
Joan continued, stating that followers will definitely know when she and Chock decide to say their “I do’s.”
She shared, “They deserve to see how this progresses and if it does well, you know, celebrate with us. And if it doesn’t do well, understand what happened. I mean, clearly it’s doing well; we’re better than we’ve ever been. We’re as close as somebody who’s been dating for a year should be or engaged at this point. But I would never want for them to find out that we got married and not know that. I don’t think it’s fair.”
Joan also revealed the kind of wedding she hopes to have when their big day comes.
She said, “People say, ‘Will you get married on TV?’… I am perfectly happy doing our own family wedding with our family and friends. But I would never not put some pictures up and let you know what’s happening.”
