Wait, Paula Abdul, what are you doing here!? ABC has released photos from the first two episodes of The Golden Bachelor Season 2, which premiere on September 24, and Abdul makes a surprise appearance alongside lead Mel Owens.
The legendary performer also revealed over the summer that she would be “crashing” the new season of the show. So, what gives?
It turns out that Abdul is just in attendance to help judge one of Owens’ group dates. This is par for the course in Bachelor Nation, with celebrities and past contestants often making appearances on the show to help the leads make their decisions.
Along with the photos from the first two episodes, ABC also released the logline, sharing more information about what viewers can expect: “Following a thrilling first night, Mel whisks one lucky lady away for a dazzling evening aboard the Queen Mary, while the rest of the women bring the energy in a spirited cheerleading competition judged by celebrity guest Paula Abdul, with help from the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders.”
The second episode will also feature a “sun-soaked pool party,” where “Mel and the women trade formalwear for swimsuits.” This leads to a “high-stakes rose ceremony that evening.”
Abdul filmed her guest appearance back in July, telling fans on Facebook at the time, “Guess who’s crashing The Golden Bachelor? 😉🌹💋 You can too if you’re in LA this Friday, July 25th! I’ll be there for something very special, so come join me and get up close with the new leading man, the incredible women, and all the fun, drama, and roses you know and love ❣️.”
Season 2’s leading man is a former NFL player who got divorced in 2020 and has two sons. Viewers will have a front row seat to watch and see if he’s able to find love again this fall.
