Executive producer Andrea Newman teased to TVLine that Vasquez is much more than just a pretty face with a chip on his shoulder. “There’s definitely a mystery surrounding why he was brought in,” she explained. “And Stella’s not the only one who’s going to want answers.”
Speaking of Stella, our favorite Lieutenant is once again put to the test as she’s tasked with managing Vasquez’s unpredictable energy. Known for her no-nonsense leadership and incredible ability to whip green or difficult firefighters into shape, Stella is not one to be intimidated. But this time, things may get a little more complicated.
“He’s not just reckless — he’s charming, rebellious, and honestly, a little dangerous,” Newman hinted. “But Stella’s the one person who might be able to bring out the best in him… and survive the worst.”
And let’s not ignore the elephant in the room: the chemistry. According to Newman, the sparks between Vasquez and Stella are undeniable — but they might not be the only potential couple brewing. The showrunner teased, “Let’s just say Novak definitely has some thoughts about Vasquez — and she’s not keeping them to herself.”
