Exciting times are ahead on the Peacock streaming soap opera.
Days of Our Lives legends took to the Today show in honor of the soaps legacy and promote the soaps upcoming 60th anniversary.
James Reynolds (Abe Carver), Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans-Black), and Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), took to the stage at the Today Show and discussed all things Days of Our Lives. The iconic series marks its 60th anniversary this November.
Today Show Host Al Roker asked the cast what viewers can look forward to from the upcoming tribute episodes, to which Reynolds responded, “People are coming back from when we [Deidre Hall and himself] began. It’s going to be fantastic, and people who watch the show for a long time are going to be thrilled. People who are new to the show will start to understand more and more the history. Really looking forward to it.” The actor then jokingly added “as long as I don’t have to dance.”
60th Anniversary Celebration
Earlier this year head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford teased the upcoming anniversary when speaking to TV Guide’s Stephanie Sloane. To highlight the historic event the writing team announced plans for a huge gala celebration. The writers teased this festivity will be filled “with the return of many familiar faces, leading to a new umbrella story that takes us into the new year.”
Since then, it was revealed, on-screen, that the gala will be in honor of the opening of the Tom Horton Free Clinic, giving a nod to original cast member Macdonald Carey.
