LaRoyce Hawkins, who has played Officer Kevin Atwater in Chicago P.D. since 2014, is ready to celebrate after receiving a big nomination.
In a video Wolf Entertainment shared on social media, Hawkins tells his makeup artist he’s nominated for “sexiest TV cop.”
“Have you heard? I got a call today,” Hawkins, 36, began. “Apparently, I’m nominated for People magazine’s ‘sexiest TV cop.'”
The makeup artist reacted with a spurt of energy, telling Hawkins, “Yes, that’s huge!”
Hawkins then shared his surprise at the nomination, saying, “I identify as funny-looking. If I am to win, I’m not doing it for the sexy people, I’m doing it for the funny-looking ones from the hood, who never identify.”
“Kevin Atwater wins in our book @LaRoyceHawkins ChiHards! It’s your time to shine,” the caption applauded, imploring fans to “Vote now at the link in our bio.”
The actor is up against Shemar Moore, Eric Winter and Daniel Sunjata.

Fans shared overwhelming support for Hawkins’ nomination, with replies like, “He got my vote!!!!” and “YOU should WIN FOR SURE!! You should win SEXY MAN OF THE YEAR! You FINE FINE💛🔥.”
Even actor Dermot Mulroney declared, “got my vote 👊.”
Others couldn’t get over Hawkins’ reaction, with many calling him out for not thinking he’s sexy, such as one who wrote, “Um, sorry, but I’ma need you to do it for the sexy people because you is them and they is you lol.”
“You don’t identify? Sir, have you seen yourself?!” asked another, as more chimed in to say, “You’re finer than frog hair good sir! ❤️,” and “Boy you know you fine STOP PLAYING ‼️.”
For fans hoping to cast their vote for Hawkins or anyone else nominated, the voting period is open until Feb. 28. If it ends in Hawkins’ favor, the Chicago P.D. star will soon be able to proudly proclaim his status as “sexiest TV cop.”
