Why has he returned to Salem and what is his agenda?
Jeremy Horton has returned
Early in September, on Days of Our Lives, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) mentioned that Jeremy Horton would be returning to Salem. On October 3, 2025, Jeremy came back to town, played by Michael Roark.
Soap fans who watch The Young and the Restless may recall that Roark portrayed Travis Crawford on the CBS soap opera in 2016. According to his IMDb Roarke’s resume includes the following:
Bennett’s War (2019), Driven (2021) and Alabama Dirt (2017). He made his film debut in Dolphin Tale (2011). He has had regular and recurring roles in several television series including Beauty and the Beast (2012), Sleepy Hollow (2013), Finding Carter (2014) and The Young and the Restless (1973) and guest-starred in numerous series including Banshee (2013), Grey’s Anatomy (2005) and 9-1-1 (2018).
Viewers could see that Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) was visibly upset, but not everyone may understand why.
The character of Jeremy is the son of Mike Horton (Roark Grant Critchlow) and Robin Jacobs (Derya Ruggles). Mike’s parents were He and his parents spent much of his life in Israel. He first appeared in 1989, as a young boy portrayed by Jeremy Allen and Jeffrey Clark.
The sordid Horton family history
Jeremy’s father, Mike, was conceived after Bill Horton (Ed Malloy) was drunk and raped Laura Horton (Susan Flannery), who was married to his brother Mickey Horton (John Clarke).
When Mickey learned that he was sterile and Mike was not his son, he left Salem and found Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) on a farm. He later married her, and Bill and Laura also eventually married. They later became the parents of Jennifer Horton Devereaux (Melissa Reeves).
Jennifer is Jeremy’s aunt, and Julie is his great aunt. You can figure out the rest of the connections in the Horton family tree from this point.
Jeremy Horton has a violent past
In 2007, an adult Jeremy returned to Salem, played by Trevor Donovan, and he was already in a relationship with Stephanie. Her father, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), did a background check and reported that Jeremy had a criminal record.
It was revealed that he was involved in shady money-making schemes and smuggling women from the UK for prostitution. Jeremy became abusive and on one occasion, almost drowned Stephanie by pushing her head under water in a hot tub.
He fled Salem to avoid prosecution for his various crimes, but has now returned. Spoilers don’t say what his agenda is, but Stephanie shared a little of her past with him while talking to Alex Kiriakis ( Robert Scott Wilson) on Friday.
She is not happy that her troubled ex is back in town and wants to steer clear of him. Some DOOL fans wonder if the statute of limitations has run out or if Jeremy will be arrested for his crimes.
It’s ironic how hard Julie was on Doug Williams II (Peyton Meyer), considering Jeremy’s checkered past and that of her other family members. Tom Horton (MacDonald Carey) and Alice Horton (Francis Reid) were upstanding citizens of Salem with stellar reputations. Their offspring, however, and future generations from the Horton tree are quite human.
What is Jermy’s agenda for Salem?
Someone was watching Stephanie when she was in Salem Square during the blackout. Was Jeremy stalking her or just keeping tabs? Days viewers have inferred from what she has said that some of the steamy scenes in hr book One Stormy Night happened between her and the Horton family member.
There are rumblings that Jeremy wants Stephanie back, and with her daydreaming about their past, anything is possible. Still, he will probably have to prove to everyone in Salem who knows him that he has changed. Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives to learn what this character has on his agenda.
