Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Trailer Features Big Bang Theory Connection

The new season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is almost here. CBS has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming second season of the Young Sheldon sequel spinoff series.

The Season 2 trailer picks up after the events of the end of Season 1, which saw Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Ruben (Jessie Prez) purchase the tire shop from Jim McAllister (Will Sasso). Unfortunately, it looks like Georgie and Ruben aren’t going to agree on many things and that includes what they should rename the tire shop to, with the latter ruling out Georgie’s suggestion of “Dr. Tire.” Of course, fans of The Big Bang Theory will know that by 2018, that’s exactly what Sheldon’s older brother’s chain of tire shops is called, with Georgie also known as “The Tire King of Texas.” Check out the new trailer for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage below.

Speaking with TVLine, series co-creator Steve Holland addressed some of the challenges that Georgie and Ruben will face in Season 2, including who gets paid more. “Their journey over Season 2 is going to be figuring out how to work together. Ruben goes to school, he’s worked there longer, and he feels like he’s the one who should have a bigger say,” Holland teased.

Despite The Big Bang Theory confirming that Dr. Tire will ultimately happen, the co-creator wasn’t quite ready to reveal what Ruben’s role in its creation would be. “I don’t know. I mean, this is certainly the first step on the road to Dr. Tire. It’s possible that he and Ruben have a falling out. It’s also possible that Ruben is a silent partner and Georgie is the face of Dr. Tire,” Holland shared back in May. “We’ve talked about all those options. Hopefully, we have a long road ahead of us, so we’re taking it one small step at a time.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is the third installment in The Big Bang Theory franchise after the namesake series (2007-19) and Young Sheldon (2017-24). Set after the events of Young Sheldon, the sitcom follows Georgie and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting, and marriage. With Georgie & Mandy so closely connected to Young Sheldon, existing within the same timeline, several cast members from the latter have returned in a recurring or guest capacity, such as Zoe Perry’s Mary Cooper, Annie Potts’ Meemaw, and Raegan Revord’s Missy Cooper.

Georgie & Mandy will soon be joined by the fourth Big Bang series, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, although this spinoff will be airing on HBO Max instead of CBS. Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and John Ross Bowie are leading the upcoming series, reprising their Big Bang Theory roles as Stuart Bloom, Bert Kibbler, Denise, and Barry Kripke, respectively. Stuart Fails will mark a drastic departure from the franchise’s sitcom roots, as the spinoff is confirmed to deal with the multiverse, following Stuart as he tries to restore reality before a multiverse Armageddon can occur. Production on the forthcoming spinoff began at the end of September.
