Despite the shift in storytelling focus, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage has managed to keep Georgie’s family relevant thanks to references to George’s death and regular guest appearances from Mary, Missy, and Meemaw. In “Big Decisions,” the Young Sheldon sequel offshoot brings back the Cooper family matriarch as her firstborn deals with both marital and professional issues, and can’t get the support he needs from the McAllisters. Aside from reeling about Mandy lying about working with her ex-boyfriend for months now, Jim also contemplates selling the tire shop, despite previous conversations about Georgie inheriting it.

Georgie Needs Help & Mary Delivers
As established in The Big Bang Theory, Georgie eventually becomes the owner of the biggest tire franchise in Texas. Jim’s decision to sell the business to their competitor, however, prompts Georgie to make him an offer himself.
Mary explains that she has always catered to Sheldon and Missy, and now, it’s her turn to help Georgie.

Missy Has Something To Say About Her Mom’s Claims
It’s no secret that Mary has a special bond with Sheldon. It was established in The Big Bang Theory season 1 and was supported by the events of Young Sheldon. In fact, Mary’s favoritism is barely contested that everyone just starts to live with it — including Missy. The Coopers’ only daughter has had a front-row seat to her mom’s favoritism. Whether that’s Mary catering to Sheldon’s whims while ignoring her requests or only seeing her when she makes mistakes.
Missy’s behavior gets worse as the Coopers story continues in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, but Sheldon’s twin also subtly reveals why.

The Mother & Daughter’s Dynamic Never Really Improved
Interestingly, Mary is so earnest during her conversation with Georgie that it’s highly unlikely that she is intentionally lying when she says that she has given attention to her twins. Instead, she appears to truly believe that she has only shortchanged Georgie and equally catered to both Sheldon and Missy. This is far more damaging to her parenting record, because Mary genuinely doesn’t see her daughter’s plight.
