Who’s Most Likely to Die in ‘Will Trent’ Season 4? The Evidence Is Mounting

Will Trent season 4 may not be returning until 2026, but the show left off on a precarious cliffhanger and I’m certain I know who’s going to die after the chemical contagion took season 3’s finale by storm. Will Trent season 3, which saw Will (Ramón Rodriguez) struggling as he pieced his life back together after turning Angie Polaski (Erika Christensen) in, was complicated.

While Will and Angie’s relationship remained a focal point of the series, the pair took a long stretch of time away from one another as the show continued to build out their lives without each other. Will’s relationship with Marion Alba (Gina Rodriguez) blossomed and wilted, while Angie made a connection with Dr. Seth McDale (Scott Foley) that turned into something serious.

Throughout Will Trent season 3, it was clear that there were different dynamics coming into play for nearly everyone, including the friendship that blossomed between Michael Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) and Faith Mitchell (Iantha Richardson). While the lives hanging in the balance seemed like a mix of Ormewood, Amanda Wagner (Sonja Sohn), and Nico (Cora Lu Tran), an unexpected character could meet their end.

Will Trent’s season 3 finale set up several possible deaths, leaving many wondering if someone would die once the next season got started. While Will and Angie were both safe, Ormewood’s brain tumor and exposure to the contagion made him a possible candidate. Nico, who spent the day with someone who was infected from the contagion, also became a candidate within the episode.

The most likely candidate seemed to be Wagner, who was shot while protecting Angie during the intense Will Trent season 3 finale. While the actress who plays Wagner didn’t appear to leave before Will Trent season 4 began filming, it’s possible that her exit could be kept under wraps as the series continues to film. One other potential death was also in the mix.

Scott Foley May Not Be Available To Return As Seth McDale

Although it’s not confirmed in any capacity, Seth may be the most likely to die in the premiere of Will Trent season 4 after being exposed to the contagion. While Seth’s death may not be the most impactful for the world of Will Trent, it’s possible that Foley may not have availability for the series. With a new show in the works, Foley could have quietly left the series.

Seth McDale’s Death Would Be The Most Low-Impact, Despite Altering Angie’s Story

Although the idea of Foley leaving Will Trent changes things for Angie, who only found out she was pregnant a few episodes prior to the finale, his death would be the most low-impact on the series. Unfortunately for Seth, his reach is less prominent than Ormewood or Wagner. His death would complicate Angie’s story, which could be a good thing for the series.

While Seth dying may not be the most dramatic choice the series could make, it would open up a lot of story potential for the tension between Will and Angie. That tension would likely not be romantic, but instead a tough familial tension that could be more complicated than anticipated. Will Trent choosing to kill off Seth may not the worst choice, after all.
