“As someone who’s always valued privacy when it comes to my personal life, it feels both surreal and incredibly special to be sharing this moment with all of you. Over the years, fans have followed our characters—Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton—through some of the most intense, emotional, and beautiful storylines on Chicago P.D. What many didn’t see was that behind the scenes, something real and unexpected was quietly growing between Tracy and me.
Our journey together started on set, rooted in mutual respect, friendship, and a shared love for storytelling. But somewhere along the way, that connection deepened. What began as a partnership in front of the camera slowly became something so much more meaningful behind it.
Tracy is not only one of the most talented and generous people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with—she’s also the most compassionate, grounded, and inspiring person I know. Being with her has brought so much joy and balance into my life. Whether it was traveling through Lisbon, celebrating birthdays, or simply sharing quiet moments together, every day has felt like a new adventure.
That’s why I’m beyond happy to share that Tracy and I are getting married this November.
This isn’t just a celebration of love—it’s a celebration of growth, of timing, and of finding someone who truly sees and supports you. We’ve kept much of our relationship private, not out of secrecy, but because we wanted to protect what was sacred and real to us. But now, as we prepare to take this next step together, we want to let you in on our joy.
