Golden Bachelor’s Nicolle made a surprising admission about the real reason she decided to contend for Mel Owens’ heart on season two of the dating show in E! News’ exclusive clip.
Things are getting thorny at Villa de la Vina.
Though nine women continue to compete for Mel Owens’ final rose on season two of The Golden Bachelor, one may not be there for the right reasons. Indeed, Nicolle revealed her attention isn’t solely focused on the former NFL star.
“I’ve told myself from the beginning, I’m not dating Mel,” the 64-year-old told contestant Roxanne in an exclusive E! News clip of the Oct. 8 episode. “I’m dating America. That gives you exposure like you’ve never had.”
Sitting alongside more of this season’s contestants, the yoga instructor compared their impending fame to the cast of The Real Housewives franchises, gushing, “We’re going to have Housewives status.”
And it turns out, she already has some goals following the dating competition. As she put it, “I would love to be more and more of an influencer.”
Although Nicolle has high hopes for her post-show career, her peers weren’t thrilled by her confessions. For instance, Cindy noted that all the other women “want what’s best for Mel.”
“Nicolle, she has ulterior motives,” the 60-year-old asserted in her confessional. “That’s what most of us are talking about in front of and behind Nicolle.”
Meanwhile, Carol admitted that Nicolle’s honest remarks simply took her aback.
“I don’t even know what to think,” she reflected. “It just rubbed me the wrong way.”
Although Mel is ready to find his MVP, he previously revealed that viewers can first expect to see a lot of drama in the Bachelor mansion.
“It’s going to be incredible,” he told Good Morning America ahead of the Sept. 24 season premiere. “There’s a lot of twists and turns, and the women are great. So you gotta watch it for the women. They’re fantastic.”
As for what the 66-year-old is looking for in his future wife?
“Someone who has energy, great personality, active, adventurous, lifetime learner,” he explained on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast last month. “But energy is a big deal.”
