Eric Martsolf Spills on Brady’s Next Chapter in Days of Our Lives as Sophia’s Lies Come Crashing Down md18

Brady’s been on absolute fire lately as he’s sifted through Sophia’s lies and figured out what was really going on with the Days of Our Lives teen. He followed the clues, unspun the web and learned that while Tesoro is, indeed, Sophia’s child, he’s not Tate’s!

Though to be fair, Brady does know a thing or two about baby drama — as does pretty much every adult in Salem. Sophia may think she’s brilliant, but her efforts to hide the truth about Tesoro have been small potatoes compared to something like Kristen stealing Tate out of Theresa’s womb.

Between that, Kristen’s dramatic prison sentence and Rachel’s mental health struggles after EJ’s shooting, Brady has had plenty to do. And Eric Martsolf has been eating it up — especially as he’s nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in this Friday’s Daytime Emmy Awards.

With that said, Martsolf admitted to Soaps that, “I do feel, recently, it’s been all about the kids, and I would love to insert more of a personal conflict just within him, rather than dealing with everyone’s external issues. Because dads are also people, human beings that go through their own stuff.”

In Brady’s, his portrayer would love it if that meant falling off the wagon once again. “I know that’s not something you’re really supposed to cheer for,” he chuckled, “but… It gives you a lot to work on, though. Oh, it’s fun. It’s fun because it’s hard, and it’s demanding, and it’s exhausting. But I’ve never enjoyed playing something more than when he was going through those troubles and those tribulations. Because it’s serious stuff.”

Plus, Martsolf added, “from a guy who spent a lot of years on Passions doing the silliest of storylines, I think I’ve always kind of yearned for the not-so-comfortable areas to be in as a human being.”

But whatever comes along, rest assured, Martsolf — and Brady — are here to stay. In a recent interview with Women’s World, he noted that his manager at the time assumed that when Martsolf joined Passions in 2002, it would be six months and gone.

But instead, the former Ethan made clear, “‘I don’t want to go anywhere, I love this!’ And now, I’ve been going straight for 23 years, with only a six-month break. Over the years, I’ve always run out of reasons to leave… because there’s so many reasons to stay.”

No matter what the reasons, we’re just glad that Martsolf and Brady are sticking around. And selfishly, we hope that never changes!
