‘Golden Bachelor’ Mel Owens Hosts Detroit Meet-and-Greet to Support Cancer Research md18

The night before the finale of “The Golden Bachelor” season 2, the star of the reality dating show, Detroit native Mel Owens will appear in Detroit for a meet-and-greet event.

The event is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Born in Detroit store at 1275 Woodward and is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Participants can donate $50 and get a meet-and-greet with Owens, a photo with their own camera or phone, and a limited-edition Born in Detroit co-branded T-shirt. For a $100 donation, fans can upgrade to a sweatshirt.

Both the T-shirts and sweatshirts will be ordered on site and delivered at a later date.

Owens, 66, is a retired NFL linebacker who played for the Los Angeles Rams. He also played college football for the University of Michigan from 1976-80.
