‘Boston Blue’ Just Quietly Shattered a Blue Bloods Franchise Record and No One Noticed md20

Boston Blue follows former NYPD detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) as he leaves The Big Apple and joins up with the Boston Police Department. He finds himself partnered with Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), the oldest daughter of a notable Boston law enforcement family with ties to the Reagans. New episodes of Boston Blue will continue airing on CBS at 10 pm EST before they begin streaming on Paramount+ the following day. The show has already found itself on streaming charts as one of the most popular shows for Paramount+.

In addition to Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan and Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver, Boston Blue also stars Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Mika Amonsen as Sean Reagan, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, Ernie Hudson as Reverend Edwin Peters, Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan, and more. Jerry Bruckheimer is executive producing Boston Blue alongside star Donnie Wahlberg. Anthony Hemingway, Jackeline Tejada, and Randy Zisk are all confirmed to direct episodes of Boston Blue Season 1.

Will There Be Another Season of ‘Boston Blue’?

Paramount has yet to announce if it will move forward with another season of Boston Blue, and this likely won’t be decided until later in the season when there is more viewership data to analyze. Blue Bloods ran for 14 seasons before it was shockingly canceled a few years ago, so it would be surprising to see Boston Blue run for anything less than a few seasons. Fans can also expect to see some more familiar names from Blue Bloods as the show goes along — Donnie Wahlberg teased as much leading up to the Boston Blue Season 1 premiere.
