Fully knowing that Blue Bloods remains very popular, even retroactively on streaming, CBS officially brings back the show via a spinoff. Spearheaded by Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan, Boston Blue takes place in Beantown where he and his son, Sean, now lives. Separating from Frank and the rest of his family in New York isn’t easy, but it allows for a new story to tell.
Erin Wears A Wedding Ring In Boston Blue Episode 1
Boston Blue‘s inciting incident is Sean’s near-death experience in a Boston fire. Knowing full well that his son needs him, Danny rushes to his kid’s side, setting him down a path of permanently moving up north to be with him. While Boston Blue‘s perfect Reagan family replacement, the Silvers, are immediately intriguing, there’s still something special about seeing Erin come join her brother in Boston.
Erin is the first member of the Raegan family, outside of Danny and Sean, to appear in Boston Blue. Considering how accessible Beantown is from New York, cameos would be easy to do. That said, what makes Erin’s appearance special is that it subtly makes up for Blue Bloods‘ final disappointment — its failure to reveal to Frank and the rest of the clan that Erin and Jack re-married.
Why Erin & Jack Boyle Didn’t Share Their Marriage News In The Blue Bloods Finale
When the Reagans sat down after a particularly harrowing day, everyone was just happy that they were all able to protect the city without anyone being harmed. Before starting the actual meal, Erin and Jack were already looking at each other, preparing to announce their 2nd marriage. However, they were cut short by Jamie and Eddie’s own good news — they’re expecting their first kid.
This quickly became the center of the family’s attention. Danny tried to ask Erin about her own announcement, but she and Jack decided to delay sharing it, so as not to take away from Jamie and Eddie’s moment. However, since this was the final episode of Blue Bloods, they didn’t get the chance to do it on-screen. Perhaps, however, a Boston Blue flashback can share how it actually went down.
