Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Ransom Canyon, giving fans a glimpse of their next Western romance obsession. The series stars Josh Duhamel (Shotgun Wedding) and Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Staten Kirkland and Quinn O’Grady, two small-town souls caught between love, loss, and big-time ranching dreams.
Set against sweeping Texas landscapes, the teaser teases a mix of romance, rivalry, and rural charm — think Virgin River meets Yellowstone. Between shirtless horseback rides and high-stakes family drama, Duhamel’s transformation into a full-blown cowboy takes center stage.
Ransom Canyon also features Lizzy Greene, Meta Golding, James Brolin, Marianly Tejada, Eoin Macken, and Garrett Wareing. The series rides onto Netflix on April 17, 2025.

Ransom Canyon marks Netflix’s newest literary adaptation, following successful projects like 3 Body Problem, All the Light We Cannot See, Orange Is the New Black, and Mindhunter. Based on Jodi Thomas’ beloved romance series, the show brings her heartfelt Texas tales to life.
With seven novels — plus two prequels — in the collection, Netflix has plenty of material to expand upon. Developed by Wednesday writer April Blair, Ransom Canyon promises to blend sweeping romance, rugged Western charm, and complex small-town storytelling into one captivating series
