Later at their respective dinners, both women raised concerns over Mel’s inability to communicate his feelings, with Peg worried whether Mel is “emotionally available,” and Cindy concerned Mel “didn’t have any questions” for her, fearing he was holding back.
During his date with Peg, viewers quickly learned Mel, the NFL-player-turned lawyer, was not a major adrenaline junkie, with spitfire Peg Munson taking charge behind the wheel of their go-cart-like buggy. The cliffhanger came later after overnight dates, when Mel was pressed by Cindy over his lack of reassurance in their relationship. She’s all in and falling in love; he admitted in a confessional he was “undecided” between the two women, later declaring that to Cindy.
“I feel like you haven’t felt free to maybe share with me where you are. What’s holding you back? I really would like to know,” Cindy questioned Mel. “How do you feel about us? How do you feel about me?”
Mel, when speaking of his prior marriage to his first wife, Fabiana Pimentel Owens, said it took him a while to tie the knot, and was unsure whether he’s ready to get married just yet. Cindy, in response, worried if his hesitations were because of her, perhaps a tighter relationship with Peg, or if it was “just who he is.”
“So what do we do from here?” Cindy aksed, in which Mel replied, “If there’s a will, there’s a way.” With the cliffhanger, Cindy finished, “So that begs the question: Is there a will?”
