ABC’s Will Trent rocked the internet with its latest cameo
In the second episode of Will Trent’s sophomore season, C. Thomas appeared in the drama series as the character Warden Sturgill Hawley.
Warden Sturgill had greeted Iantha Richardson’s character Faith Mitchell when she arrived at his prison to interview an inmate.
Ramon Rodriguez’s character, Will, had arrived an hour before Faith, who is his partner, allowing him to meet with Warden Sturgill first.
The 57-year-old actor being on Will Trent was a real treat for avid TV watchers.
C. Thomas was the breakout star in the legendary 1983 crime thriller The Outsiders alongside fellow rising stars at the time: Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, and Patrick Swayze.
On X, aka Twitter, a few fans expressed the delight they felt to see C. Thomas on their TV screen.
“I will forever love seeing C. Thomas Howell in anything – he can be the hero or the villain – I don’t care #WillTrent,” one person wrote.
“Oooooooohh was that CThomas Howell in the jail?? #WillTrent @WillTrentABC. I absolutely love him!!” another added.
Will Trent debuted on ABC in January 2023, and the program’s second season premiered in February of this year.

SUPER SUCCESS
“The series revolves around special agent Will Trent of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, who was abandoned at birth and endured a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system,” IMDb explains.
“But now, determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was, Will Trent has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.”
ABC’s latest series has seen significant growth this season.
The Season 2 launch scored 7.68 million viewers.
Ratings increased by 5% compared to last year.
Will Trent brought in 7.34 million viewers for Season 1’s first episode.
ANGRY AT ABC
ABC’s Will Trent seems to be redeeming the network.
In May 2023, the TV station angered fans with a shakeup to ABC’s show roster.
ABC chose not to renew a Milo Ventimiglia-produced series for a second season, Deadline reported in May.
A product of Disney TV Studios’ 20th Television, The Company You Keep failed to do as well as its fellow midseason 2023 entries, Will Trent and Not Dead Yet.
While The Company You Keep didn’t make the cut, Will Trent has been brought back on ABC for Season tw2o, and Not Dead Yet will likely also be renewed.
The crime romance series was one of three shows, which included Big Sky and Alaska Daily, that ABC booted in May also.
RUE THE DAY
In its short time, The Company You Keep acquired many fans.
Many of them expressed their upset with ABC bosses for their decision in a thread on X.
“You will rue this day RUE THIS DAY for cancelling. Trash tv company,” one fan ranted in a tweet.
“@ABCNetwork made a mistake canceling this show! I hope it can live on another streaming service. @hulu please consider this show,” another said.
“It’s infuriating to hear, the @ABCNetwork has cancelled #TheCompanyYouKeep I would like like to thank everyone who made the @CompanyYouKeep possible. producers, cast, crew.
“The show was phenomenal. I’m down to one show left on the #ABC network @GeneralHospital THEN IM OUT,” a third raged.
“…@ABCNetwork such a dumb move canceling!!” someone else noted.
