Will Martin and Tracy Go From Enemies to Lovers?
Up until now, Martin (Knight) has been one of the nicest guys in Port Charles. Sure, he’s got three ex-wives, but he was the better of two brothers, a successful attorney, and a good friend to Stella (Vernee Watson). But everyone has a limit, and Martin’s was when Tracy (Jane Elliot) had him arrested. This led Martin to seeking revenge on the Quartermaine heir by forging Monica’s (the late Leslie Charleson) will so Ronnie (Erika Slezak) inherited the house instead of Tracy.
It appears Martin isn’t paying for his crime behind bars, and is instead simply facing the disappointment of his sister, Laura (Genie Francis). But even after all that, Knight reveals there may still be a spark between Martin and Tracy.
“When you get a hatred that burns hot, there’s got to be some kind of recognition. There’s got to be some kind of kindred spirit. Only a person that you have a tremendous amount in common with can piss you off that much,” Knight said in a recent interview with Michael Fairman TV after confirming a Tracy and Martin romance “is possible.”
As for his scene partner, Knight said of Elliot, “It’s always fun to work with somebody who’s just going to give you more than is on the page,” and noted that the scene when Tracy pinched Martin’s cheek was Elliot’s way of taking the scene to the next level.
Whether it’s love or hate, Knight admitted, “I think we all sort of agree that there’s something that’s just priceless about the Tracy and Martin relationship. It’s just fun to watch.”
