On the heels of the success of the 2025 One Chicago crossover, there has been an increased attempt in having interactions among characters from Firehouse 51, Intelligence, and Gaffney. Currently, it’s uncertain if NBC is planning another major TV special — something that it used to do during the earlier years of the franchise but became a rarity after the pandemic. Regardless, however, each show has been building compelling storylines that fans can follow individually. Sadly, it will be a while before new episodes of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med come out.
NBC’s One Chicago Has Officially Entered Its Midseason Break
After releasing their respective episode 7s, the One Chicago franchise has now officially started its mandatory winter hiatus. Because Chicago Fire season 14, Chicago PD season 13, and Chicago Med season 11 kicked off the year on October 1 — earlier than the majority of its scripted network TV peers, and released an outing week in and week out, they reached their episodic quota for 2025 quicker.
When Will New Episodes Of Chicago Fire, PD, & Med Release?
What To Expect From Chicago Fire Season 14, Chicago PD Season 13, and Chicago Med Season 11 When They Return
Because the episodes are still several weeks away, NBC hasn’t released their official titles and synopses. That said, the network has rolled out the midseason premiere trailers for all three shows, which should give the public an idea of what’s to come. In terms of Chicago Med season 11, episode 7, Hannah Asher’s dad is coming to the Windy City, resulting in some tension between him and Dean Archer in light of her pregnancy.
Chicago Fire season 14, episode 7, on the other hand, won’t be taking much of a gap with regard to its storytelling, as its trailer features the immediate aftermath of the arson that puts Kelly Severide and Tom Van Meter’s lives in danger. From the looks of it, the OFI Captain may be in a more dire situation than Firehouse 51’s Lieutenant.
