Gerry Turner and Lana Sutton are gearing up to spend their first holiday season together! The couple got engaged in October, just seven months after she slid into his Facebook DMs, and now they’re finding their groove when it comes to blending their families.
The Golden Bachelor star told Swooon that the pair’s upcoming plans are “subject to change,” but said they’ll be aiming to “make everybody happy” during the holiday season.
“My family, we’ve always done Thanksgiving with Jenny, my daughter that lives west of Chicago, and then [my daughter] Angie, we do Christmas [with],” Turner explained. “So we’re going to be able to overlap a lot of it. Lana’s family does a lot of Christmas Eve and even the weekend before and all of that. So there’s kids everywhere now, and it’ll get more and more complex as the time goes by.”
Turner also pointed out that Sutton has a grandson’ who’s “just barely over a year old,” so they’ll be “prioritizing” him this year. “Justifiably so,” he added. “That’s the way it should be.”

When it comes to upcoming travel plans, Turner said he and his bride-to-be have two locations they want to check off their bucket list as soon as possible. One is Switzerland, where Sutton has “hereditary ties,” and the other is a cruise to Alaska. “Those are two high priorities,” he teased.
Turner met Sutton just under a year after splitting from ex-wife Theresa Nist, whom he met on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelor. They were married for three months in 2024 before announcing that they were ending their relationship.
On the way to South Carolina in October, Turner proposed to Sutton while they were spending the night in Asheville, North Carolina. “I practiced this magic trick that involved two Solo cups and some answers to questions that I perceived that I knew by ‘magic,’” Turner told us. “So I folded up some sticky notes and put them under the Solo cup and went through that routine. And the last sticky note was, ‘Will you marry me?’ She kind of blushed a little bit, a little bit of a surprise.”
In the end, though, she realized this was the real deal, and she, of course, said yes!
