Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles Joins the Cast of Tracker in Key Role

Actor Jensen Ackles will be playing a key role in an upcoming episode of Tracker. He’s joined the cast of the show as a guest star for one of the final episodes of the first season, and a new video reveals Ackles on the set with Tracker star Justin Hartley.

On Instagram, Hartley shared a video teasing the arrival of the show’s next guest star. The video features Hartley teasing that he’s found the “perfect casting choice” to play Russell Shaw, the estranged brother of Hartley’s Colter Shaw. That’s when he reveals Ackles on the set, announcing the casting. Hartley said in the casting, “Thank you all for watching Tracker! We’ve got 4 more episodes coming your way before we start season 2. Wanted to share some fun news for all of you Tracker fans out there. Have fun.”

S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore addresses the series getting un-canceled twice and how that affects the Season 7 finale.

Manifest star Melissa Roxburgh was previously announced to play Dory, the younger sister of Hartley’s Colter and Ackles’ Russell. She will appear in the eleventh episode, set to air on May 5. Lee Tergesen (Oz) and Wendy Crewson (The Santa Clause) respectively play the Shaw siblings’ parents, Ashton and Mary Dove. The series premiered on Feb. 11 and became an instant hit for CBS. In March, it was renewed for a second season following high viewership and strong reviews.

Tracker Scored an Early Renewal for Season 2

Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement when the renewal was announced. “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”

CBS has some fantastic news for fans of FBI and its spinoffs, International and Most Wanted.
