Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue is already confirmed to return for a second season just a few weeks into its first season.

He’s soon partnered up with a “rising star” in the force, Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of one of the city’s biggest police families.
Boston Blue premiered on 17th October this year, just under a year after the flagship series Blue Bloods, led by Tom Selleck, came to an end with its 14th season.
Thankfully, the drama’s first spin-off has proven a hit for CBS and will be returning for another instalment for the 2026-2027 season.
Its renewal was announced alongside the continuation of another popular crime drama, Sheriff Country, which stars Deadpool’s Morena Baccarin and premiered its first season on the same day.
Boston Blue has been an instant ratings smash-hit for the US network, averaging around 8 million viewers tuning in both live and over the subsequent week on streaming.
CBS also says streaming has been boosted by 87 percent up from the last TV season.
Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement: “Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming.
“These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera.”

Also returning from the original Blue Bloods series is Danny’s son Sean Reagan, portrayed by Mika Amonsen, who moves to Boston with his father due to an NYPD hiring freeze.
Several other popular characters have also appeared in the sequel, including Danny’s sister Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and his former partner and girlfriend Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez).
Fans were ecstatic to hear the news of Boston Blue’s early renewal and have taken to social media to celebrate.
One X user exclaimed: “I cannot express how happy this made me!!! #BostonBlue renewed for season 2! Let’s goooo!!”
Someone else agreed: “Happy that Boston Blue got a season 2! I’ve enjoyed it so far.”
And excitement continued on Reddit where a fan said: “Very happy with this news. I really enjoy this show.”
While a final viewer wrote: “I didn’t have high hopes but I find it surprisingly entertaining. I like his relationship with Sonequa and the family dynamics with her family.
