The Rookie Season 8 is set to premiere in just under a month on ABC, and Collider is here to help bridge the gap between seasons with some exciting new Rookie content. The Rookie Season 8 will be released on January 6 on ABC, and it will begin streaming on Hulu the following day. This is the same model ABC has followed for years now, and as long as Hulu remains operational and not folded into the Disney+ umbrella, it’s expected to stay this way. ABC has yet to announce the fate of The Rookie beyond Season 8, but Fillion recently confirmed that he’d like to do the show for another 10 years. ABC has released a new season of The Rookie every year since 2018, so there could be 10 more seasons on the horizon for the series.
In addition to Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, The Rookie also stars Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Wade Grey, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen, Eric Winter as Tim Bradford, Mekia Cox as Nyla Harper, and Shawn Ashmore as Wesley Evers. It was written and created for TV by Alexi Hawley, who also wrote the 2022 spin-off series, Feds, along with Stephanie Hicks, Nick Hurwitz, Amanda Mercedes, and Terence Paul Winter.
