The new season of Netflix’s Bridgerton is reportedly set to feature an unexpected connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Arthur Lee, who appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron. While Lee was not one of the Avengers themselves, he did have a small role as a Korean train passenger in the 2015 film.

Now, he is set to step into a far more prominent part in the Netflix drama, Bridgerton Season 4, portraying Lord Richard Gun, the Earl of Penwood, and the father of Sophie Baek.

His role is based on a character from the third Bridgerton book, An Offer From a Gentleman, which Season 4 is adapted from. In the story, Lord Richard Gun is Sophie’s father, who was born from a secret relationship he had with one of his maids.

Known as Richard Gunningworth in the book, he allows Sophie to stay at Penwood Park after her maternal grandmother leaves her at his doorstep.

For the series, his surname is changed from Gunningworth to Gun to reflect the character’s Korean heritage. However, Netflix has not yet officially confirmed Arthur Lee’s casting in the new season.
