NCIS 1,000th Episode: Hawaii & LA Characters To Make Special Appearances

The forthcoming 1,000th episode of the NCIS franchise will feature cameos from NCIS: Hawaii and NCIS: Los Angeles characters. As a spinoff to JAG, the procedural franchise has gained popularity since its launch in 2003 with the classic first installment, which currently stands as one of the longest-running series on television. Four more spinoffs were ordered, including NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New OrleansNCIS: Sydney, and NCIS: Hawai’i, all of which are about to hit 1,000 episodes collectively.Vanessa Lachey looking distraught in NCIS: Hawaii

According to TVLine, the 1000th episode of the NCIS franchise has two NCIS characters crossing over. NCIS: Los Angeles alum Daniela Ruah will reprise Special Agent Kensi Blye in the now-concluded series, alongside Vanessa Lachey, who stars as Special Agent Jane Tennant in NCIS: Hawaii. However, the caveat is that neither character will appear “in person” with the main D.C. cast, but their involvements are expected to be a fun one.

NCIS ‘ 1000th episode will air on Monday, April 15 at 9 pm ET on CBS.

They also revealed that ” one of our own beloved characters is going to end up in grave danger ,” which will play a role in how each show comes together to resolve this situation.

Lachey and Ruah are not the only franchise alum making an appearance, as it was recently confirmed that Joe Spano will reprise his role of Tobias Fornell. However, there is no word if Mark Harmon will appear following Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ exit in NCIS season 19. The likelihood of a Harmon cameo seems questionable, given that the actor did not appear in David McCallum’s tribute episode.

Showrunners Steven D. Binder and David North teased that the 1,000th episode in the franchise, which will air as episode 7 of NCIS season 21, will focus on Director Leon Vance and feature his son Jarod, who will be played by Spence Moore II. They also revealed that “one of our own beloved characters is going to end up in grave danger,” which will play a role in how each show comes together to resolve this situation. While it is not clear which NCIS character is in trouble, the episode will contain Easter eggs and references to the franchise’s past.

While the forthcoming 1000th episode will undoubtedly pay a lot of homage to the franchise’s past, there’s also a huge likelihood that it will inform the franchise’s future. Alongside a developing prequel show focused on a young Agent Gibbs called NCIS: Origins, the franchise is also working on a Tony and Ziva spinoff, so the 1000th episode could impact the events of the new series. Nevertheless, the 1000th episode of the NCIS franchise is just around the corner to celebrate a momentous feat, with hopes of even more returning characters.
