It was recently announced that Y: Marshals will make its long-awaited debut on CBS on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8 PM ET. It will take over the timeslot previously occupied by the hit Justin Hartley drama Tracker, which is shifting to 9 PM ET. But along with the news that Kayce’s return is mere months away, we now have a window into the filming process.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the recent CMA Awards, Kebbell gave an update on the filming progress of Y: Marshals and noted that she’s relieved and grateful that a release date is finally set. The Vampire Diaries and 9-1-1 alum adds that the team has worked extremely hard, with filming ending in about three weeks. Read her quote below:
We’ve been working so hard. I’m so grateful we have a release date. We can talk about it. We’re actually wrapping filming in like three weeks. So, yeah, it’s getting ready to get put out in the world.
Executive produced by franchise creator Taylor Sheridan, Y: Marshals will see Kayce leave the Yellowstone Ranch to join an elite U.S. Marshals unit, using his experience as a cowboy and his complicated past to deliver justice across Montana. In the process, he’ll have to navigate family, responsibility, and the job’s heavy psychological toll. Grimes is joined in the series by several returning and new actors, with Kebbell playing a fellow U.S. Marshal.
Y: Marshals is not the only spinoff that will feature original Yellowstone cast members. There’s also The Dutton Ranch, which will feature Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The fan-favorite couple, Beth and Rip, will face tough times and will have to make tough decisions in an effort to ensure that their adopted son, Carter (Finn Little), grows up to be the man that he is meant to be.
