Tracker Season 3 Clip Reveals Colter Investigating A Conspiracy With Two Returning Characters

A new Tracker clip reveals Colter’s search for his former partner. Broadcast television’s top-rated series is well into its third installment, having kicked off season 3 with an appearance by Jensen Ackles as the older brother of Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw. Ackles’s returning guest stint as Russell Shaw helped to close the loop on Colter’s family drama while also addressing gaps in the Tracker main cast.

Abby McEnany and Eric Graise both exited the hit CBS drama, leaving behind their roles as Velma and Bobby. Their departures, at the end of Tracker season 2, came after Robin Weigert’s exit as Teddi at the end of season 1. Although their absences are felt and thoughtfully explained in the show, Colter has been sharing more scenes with other recurring characters.

ScreenRant has an exclusive clip of Tracker season 3, episode 9, “Good Trouble,” which will air on Sunday, December 14 at 8 PM ET. In the episode, Colter’s longtime friend Keaton reaches out for help locating his former partner. The duo then stumble upon a chilling trail of bodies and uncover a dangerous conspiracy that runs far deeper and more twisted than they could have ever imagined. Check it out below

Written by showrunner Elwood Reid and Sharon Lee Watson, with Jeff T. Thomas directing, “Good Trouble” sees Brent Saxton returning as Colter’s ally Saxton. A retired cop, Saxton was introduced in season 2, episode 6, “Trust Fall.” He has appeared in three episodes overall, with “Good Trouble” marking his fourth. The clip also highlights Chris Lee as Randy, who has been an increasingly consistent recurring presence and a major help in Colter’s investigations.

The episode, which will be available to stream on Paramount+, is Tracker season 3’s last before it heads into a winter hiatus. It will be back on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in a new timeslot. It will air from 9 PM ET to 10 PM ET, changing from its previous 8 PM timeslot that now belongs to the Yellowstone spinoff Y: Marshals. Also on Sundays, Watson season 2 will move to a new timeslot of 10 PM ET.

Tracker explained Velma and Bobby’s exits, noting that Velma had left because she’s focused on trying to repair her strained relationship with Teddi. Bobby, meanwhile, has stepped away after being offered an exciting new job opportunity that he couldn’t pass up. Reid, who is an executive producer alongside Hartley, Ken Olin, Connie Dolphin, Sharon Lee Watson, and Alex Katsnelson, has mentioned that those familiar faces could still come back in the future. But for now, the 20th Television-produced crime drama is looking forward
