Kandi Burruss Reveals a Glimpse at Her Life in NYC Amid Divorce: “Excited for What’s Next”

Kandi Burruss is “excited for what’s next” in her career amid her divorce from Todd Tucker. The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum is about to embark on a run performing in Broadway’s & Juliet starting in December — and she could not be more ready for this.

The BravoCon 2025 Wifetime Achievement Award recipient took to Instagram on Nov. 22, where she posted a series of photos of herself standing outside of the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in NYC, where the musical is performed. In the pictures, Kandi can be seen wearing a brick red patent leather dress with a matching fur stole wrapped around her arms. She paired this look with a pair of black heeled boots and a black leather Louis Vuitton handbag.

Kandi posed in front of the theater, snapping a photo in front of the show’s motto — “There’s life after Romeo” — before slipping inside of the theater. “My ‘& Juliet’ journey has begun!” she wrote in the caption of the post. “I’m excited for what’s next!”

Kandi will be getting very familiar with & Juliet, as she will join the cast of the musical in the role of Angélique. Her performances will start on Thursday, Dec. 11, and conclude on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

She took to her Instagram account in October, where she first shared the very exciting news. “I’ve been wanting to go back to the Broadway stage for a while now & I’m so excited to join the cast of [& Juliet]! This is gonna be so fun. Y’all gotta come see me in NYC,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

Kandi Burruss confirms her divorce from Todd Tucker

This new move in her career comes as Kandi confirmed her split from Todd, more than 11 years after they married. Kandi exclusively spoke with People on Friday, Nov. 21, where she shared insight into what led to their separation.

“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” she said. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”

Is Kandi Burruss still married to Todd Tucker?

While Kandi announced their divorce, it does appear that she and Todd are still married. She did point to what’s next for her.

“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth,” she continued in her statement to People. “I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
