An unrecognizable Iain Armitage from his days of playing Sheldon reunites with a former Young Sheldon co-star half a decade since they last shared the screen. Chuck Lorre continues to deliver comedy hits for CBS, as The Big Bang Theory franchise remains thriving during the 2025-2026 TV cycle thanks to Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. While the show is technically a follow-up to the events of Young Sheldon, it finally decenters the TV universe from the socially-inept genius.

While it had maintained its popularity until the very end, The Big Bang Theory prequel outgrew its premise as it went on. By the time Young Sheldon ended, it was no longer about Sheldon. Instead, it had become a full family comedy-drama, with the rest of his family having their own compelling stories. Still, some of the most endearing stories from the show happened during its earlier years.

In a new Instagram post by Danielle Pinnock, she reunited with Armitage on the set of Ghosts. Before playing Alberta in the hit CBS spiritual comedy, the actor played Ms. Ingram — one of Sheldon’s teachers in Medford. She was last seen on the show in 2020. Watch the adorable reunion video below:

Pinnock and Armitage are reuniting for a different comedy — Ghosts, as the former guest stars in the show. Instead of playing Sheldon, however, he is playing a version of himself. This marks Armitage’s return to CBS since Young Sheldon was canceled. While Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage continues the story of the Cooper family in Texas, George and Mary’s genius son hasn’t appeared in the new show.

For what it’s worth, there’s a justified reason for Sheldon’s absence. At the end of Young Sheldon, he officially moved to California for his postgraduate studies. Based on The Big Bang Theory, he never really returned home frequently after George’s death. Still, it’s mandatory that he eventually shows up in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. It might not be happening this season, but hopefully, Lorre and CBS don’t run out of time to reunite him with his family.

As for Armitage and Pinnock’s reunion in Ghosts, it’s curious if there will be some kind of acknowledgment that she looks like the actor who played Ms. Ingram. Considering that Young Sheldon was also a CBS comedy, perhaps it’s something that can be done. Beyond that, it will be interesting to see what kind of dynamic Alberta and the fictional Armitage brings to Woodstone Mansion.
