Sad news from Hollywood: Actress Abigail Hawk has passed away unexpectedly md20

After nearly two decades of unforgettable drama and storytelling, Blue Bloods will turn in its badge at the conclusion of season 14. And star Tom Selleck has been there leading the stellar ensemble cast ever since the police procedural first premiered back in 2010. Selleck prudently addressed his time on Blue Bloods in a statement (via TV Insider):

“For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family. Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true, and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes. Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”

Selleck is arguably best known outside of the Blue Bloods mythology for portraying the titular crime fighter on another popular CBS series: the original Magnum, P.I. But for the better part of 14 years, Selleck has portrayed family patriarch Frank Reagan. But when the upcoming season’s final episode drops, that will be a wrap for one of the actor’s most popular and iconic roles.

Frank (Tom Selleck) and the rest of the Reagan family will gather around the dinner table for the last time during the 14th and final season of CBS’ Blue Bloods. And while the police procedural is on the clock, as its last episode looms somewhere in the near future, Selleck knows there are a lot of fans out there who are not ready to say goodbye to the Reagans. Selleck revealed in the same interview:

CBS will find an awful lot of people aren’t ready to say goodbye to it. The show’s more popular than ever, and I think [numbers] will increase with the interest this year. We’re certainly not out of ideas.
