Bridgerton Season 4 may already be setting up the Season 5 lead, with clues of this Bridgerton sister hidden in the poster and teaser.
Bridgerton fans are buzzing with theories that Season 5’s lead may have already been quietly set up, right in front of them. Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) could be the next lead in Bridgerton season 5. The official Season 4 poster, released this week, teases the same.
It features Eloise Bridgerton in a Joan of Arc-inspired masquerade costume with her short, blunt hair and chainmail. The caption reads:
If Miss Bridgerton has anything to say about it, she shall be on the shelf in no time.
It clearly doubles as a nod to her next chapter. The poster seems to be doing more than just showing off the Regency-era glamour. Moreover, a blue mask potentially links her to the mysterious “Lady in Silver.”Eloise may also play a key role in the Masquerade Ball plot in season 4.
While it doesn’t reveal specific plot points, the poster hints that Eloise’s story could grow in importance and potentially set her up to headline Season 5.
Bridgerton Season 4 Teaser Hints at Eloise’s Long-Awaited Romance
Netflix released a short teaser for Season 4 that has fans excited about Eloise’s storyline. In the clip, she jokes that Scotland Highlands doesn’t have enough people and that she may have to talk to livestock. For once, she seems happy to return to society and the drama of the Ton now that she’s “on the shelf.”
However, Lady Whistledown’s narration subtly nudges Eloise to reconsider her tendency to stay on the fringes of society because a life of the shelf comes with challenges. The second-eldest Bridgerton daughter is shown contemplating this advice, and her expression is somber. Perhaps she’s ready for the challenges of her own love story.
It could be her potential love story with Sir Phillip Crane, which was the main storyline in Julia Quinn’s fifth book, To Sir Phillip, With Love. His character was also introduced in Season 1 and returned in Season 2.
The teaser also mirrors the promotional style previously used for Benedict’s Season 3 storyline. It has fans speculating that Eloise is being set up as the next central character. It’s Netflix’s way of subtly signaling that Eloise may be the next sibling to take center stage. Social media is already alive with theories about her eventual romance, and the teasers prove that too.

Jess Brownell Teases Bridgerton Season 5 & 6 Leads
The speculation surrounding Eloise’s future role gains more significance during the Season 4 red carpet premiere in Paris on January 14. Showrunner Jess Brownell wore a mauve suit with pocket squares embroidered with the letters “E” and “F.” It could represent Eloise and Francesca Bridgerton, and speaking to Deadline, she subtly confirms that. She said,
I would say both characters with the initials on my pocket squares will get seasons in five and six.
Brownell did not reveal which sister would come first, saying, “In what order? I can’t say.”
Still, her subtle confirmation, along with Eloise’s prominent presence in the Season 4 poster and teaser, has convinced the audience that Eloise is poised to headline the next season. Francesca will eventually take the spotlight as well, continuing the series’ tradition of following the Bridgerton siblings in alphabetical order.
Season 4 itself focuses on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and newcomer Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) in a Cinderella-style romance. Season 4 will be released in two parts. Eloise, whose romantic arc has been largely on hold since Season 2, appears ready to step into the spotlight, starting with the upcoming new season.
Could Eloise Bridgerton finally lead her own season in Bridgerton? What are your expectations? Let us know in the comments.
