Almost a week after another operation on her broken leg, General Hospital star Carolyn Hennesy (Diane) is on the mend and heading home. “Second surgery was a success!” the actress reported in her Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of her bandaged leg kept in place with rods. “Thank you for all the love and support! Finally able to go home with my animals.”

Hennesy first reported that she’d broken her leg back at the end of October when she was forced to cancel an upcoming cabaret performance due to the injury. On November 4, the day before that performance was supposed to have taken place, she informed her fans via social media that the first surgery had gone well and the second was scheduled for Thursday, November 6. “All thoughts and prayers are welcome,” she captioned that Instagram Story at the time.
The injury had not dimmed the actress’ sense of humor as, instead of letting everyone know how she had injured herself, she suggested on X (formerly Twitter) that they come up with their own theories, joking, “Top three get shoutouts!”
And Hennesy is continuing to keep things light as her latest Instagram Story update also urged fans to help her out as she enters her recovery period at home. “Please send book, TV, movie recommendations or… diamonds 🤣 as I convalesce,” she requested.

Legal eagle Diane Miller has been a fan favorite since Hennesy made her debut in the role back in 2007. Over the years, she has earned two Daytime Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress and became a Daytime Emmy winner in 2017 for Outstanding Supporting or Guest Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for her role on The Bay.
Diane was last seen on GH in the October 14 episode as she offered Michael and Carly some legal advice when they both found themselves accused of framing Willow for shooting Drew. Given that her portrayer is only just now beginning her recovery, it could be some time before the attorney is back on screens again.
