General Hospital’s Charlotte and Danny have been spending a lot of time together lately. The growing bond has some fans forgetting that these two are cousins, so we thought a fresher was needed.
The Cassadine Connection
There’s no question that the Cassadine family tree has many branches, so it may take a moment for some to remember that these teens are related. Let’s break it all down.
Danny’s (Asher Antonyzyn) a Cassadine because of his mom, Sam (Kelly Monaco). Sam is the oldest daughter of Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who, as GH fans know, is a Cassadine.
Despite literally reinventing herself and denouncing all things Cassadine, the lineage is there in Alexis because of her father, Mikkos. Alexis was a product of an affair Mikkos had with an opera singer named Kristin Bergman.
Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) is, of course, a Cassadine because of her father, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Although, when Valentin first arrived in Port Charles, it was believed he and Alexis were siblings, sharing Mikkos as a father, but that turned out not to be the case.
It was later revealed that Valentin’s parents are Helena (Constance Towers) and Mikkos’ brother Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). The revelation showed that Alexis and Valentin were cousins, not half-siblings.
Danny, being Alexis’ grandson, and Charlotte, being Valentine’s daughter, means the teens are third cousins.
After a recent scene where Charlotte and Danny rode a motorcycle together, one fan took to X to remind writers that these two are related. There should not be a romantic narrative between them at all.
What the writers should do with the teens is make them besties like Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly (Laura Wright). Their bond is one for the books, and it would be great to see the new teen scene have one like it in their group.
Plus, Antonyzyn and Burke have a great vibe and could easily slide their characters into best friend mode.
