Station 19 Season 7 Set Up a Dark Storyline for One Popular Character

Station 19 season 7 steadily set up all the characters’ happy endings, but 1 firefighter’s story seems to be becoming too dark to be resolved in time

One of Station 19’s most beloved characters risks for their story to end hopelessly in the final season of the firefighting drama. With Station 19 season 7 being the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff’s last, many of its storylines are setting up its characters’ fates for the show’s end and beyond. Most firefighters’ storylines in Station 19 season 7 follow paths seemingly leading them to their happy endings, whether in or far from the firehouse. However, one firefighter’s future in particular seems to have a dark time in store for them before Station 19 season 7 concludes their story.

Station 19 season 6’s ending already set up the ending storylines for some characters. Chief Ross naming Andy as Station 19’s captain set up the challenges ahead for Andy, who is getting used to her new role in Station 19 season 7. Similarly, Jack’s fate was sealed by his repeated falls in Station 19 season 6, culminating in his collapse by season 6’s finale which ended his career in season 7’s premiere. Unlike Andy and Jack, one specific character’s story is pushing them toward a dark path, which has not much time to be resolved before Station 19’s end.

Station 19 Season 7 Is Putting Vic In A Vulnerable Position

Vic Is Avoiding Her Loved Ones & Risks Losing Her Purpose By Losing Crisis One

Barrett Doss as Vic Hughes, Merle Dandridge as Chief Natasha Ross and Emerson Brooks as Mayor Robel Osman in Station 19 season 7 episode 5

Station 19 season 7’s premiere put Vic and Theo in front of a difficult Crisis One call, where the woman terrorizing her coworkers had valid concerns about the company. How things had degenerated before someone called Crisis One’s experts already showed Vic how much more Crisis One could do, but it was the instability among firehouse management that made Vic wish she didn’t care so much about things. Vic’s argument with Travis in Station 19 season 7, episode 3 also didn’t help, as it gave him a reason to give her space, which wasn’t what Vic needed in her state.

Vic not wanting to care about things should have been a warning sign for her fellow firefighters, as caring about people and things was always her defining trait.

Crisis One not being funded anymore by the city budget due to the cuts ordered by the Mayor to Chief Ross put the final nail in the coffin for Vic. The initiative wasn’t only what Vic was in charge of, but it had also become her purpose, which she had spent years trying to find and for which she even studied psychology in Station 19 season 6. The dissolution of Crisis One also meant the demolition of Dean’s legacy, yet another hit, given how Dean was Vic’s best friend and the Mayor was effectively destroying Dean’s biggest contribution this way.

Station 19 Will Need To Rally Around Vic To Help Her

They Already Ignored The Warning Signs & Now Her Career Is In Danger

Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andy Herrera, Josh Randall as Sean Beckett and Barrett Doss as Vic Hughes in Station 19 season 7 episode 5

Vic’s outburst against the Mayor in front of journalists in Station 19 season 7, episode 5 imperiled her job as a firefighter per Station 19 season 7, episode 6’s promo. Her reaction to Crisis One’s dissolution evidently shocked her as well, but losing her job too could destroy her. Vic shutting out Travis and Ben, coupled with Andy’s new responsibilities distracting her from her firefighters’ well-being all contributed to the firehouse not recognizing Vic’s crisis.

Were Vic to lose her job as Station 19 season 7, episode 6’s promo suggests or fight Osman and Ross’s decision, she will need the support of her coworkers. Having already missed the warning signs, Station 19 needs to rally around Vic, and they could do so by reminding Osman of his promises when Travis endorsed him for mayor, especially considering the grip Osman has on Ross. Whether Vic’s final storyline leaves her a firefighter or not, she needs to overcome her crisis with Station 19’s help, or her story’s end will be one of the grimmest in Station 19.
