If there is one thing we’ve come to look forward to as fans of the One Chicago universe, it’s the crossover events. After the pandemic, there was a hold on the crossover episodes, but the One Chicago crossover of 2025 certainly made up for it, and now we have the surprising good news that we’ll get another one this year.
The date is set for the One Chicago 2026 crossover, focusing on all three of the shows, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD. As usual, the order of the shows will be slightly different so that the storyline makes sense.
When is the One Chicago crossover in 2026 on NBC?
NBC has set the date of Wednesday, March 4 for the three-hour crossover event. Things will kick off with Chicago Fire at the earlier time of 8/7c, and then we’ll get an episode of Med in the 9/8c time slot. Things end, as always, with Chicago PD in its usual slot of the night, according to Deadline.
This will mark a strong return for the series after the Winter Olympic break. While there’s sure to be a normal episode to get the shows back into the swing of things on Wednesday, Feb. 25, it’s a lot of fun then going into the intense episode a week later.

This is the first event of 2026, and it’s likely the only one. There is a lot of work that goes into coordinating schedules, even if all the actors are in Chicago for filming purposes. However, there are times that various characters pop into each other’s shows. The difference with the crossover events is that the actors tend to spend more time on the air, as they deal with whatever emergency situation is going on together, creating a three-hour movie instead of three episodes that just follow the same story.
What to expect when the Chicago shows combine in 2026
The crossover event starts with Firehouse 51 getting a call to an airfield after a passenger jet does silent mid-air. It suggests that an emergency has happened in the middle of the air, but this is something that could have ripple effects beyond the runway.
Of course, the initial call is to those on the jet when it does eventually land — however that landing may be. While we can tell just how the Med team is called in to help, it’s not all that clear how PD ends up getting involved. This is likely to do with whatever mystery has happened that led to the jet going silent in the air.
There’s no doubt that One Chicago crossovers create must-watch viewing, so it’s not surprising we’re getting another one. We’ll be seated for all three hours of this epic event.
The One Chicago crossover event airs on Wednesday, March 4 starting at 8/7c on NBC.
