It Finally Happened! Violet and Vasquez Share a Steamy Kiss on Chicago Fire md18

After weeks of bubbling chemistry between Vasquez and Violet, they finally crossed that line on Chicago Fire.

Sparks are flying on Season 14 of Chicago Fire as Paramedic in Charge Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and 51 newcomer Sal Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente) seal their chemistry with a kiss.

Violet and Vasquez have been playing a cat-and-mouse game this season as Violet grew more and more curious about the mysterious new firefighter settling in at Firehouse 51. Violet had initially held back her feelings for fear of her fellow paramedic pal Lizzy Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) having a crush on Vasquez. But after learning Novak had struck up a connection with Chicago Med heartthrob Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet), Violet and Vasquez’s attraction for each other has only grown.

A spotlight was shone on Violet and Vasquez’s relationship as Firehouse 51 received a visit from the Paramedic In Charge’s former on-again-off-again lover, Sam Carver (Jake Lockett), who instantly noticed the pair’s budding chemistry. Here’s what happened:

Vasquez met Violet’s former flame, Sam Carver

All nerves aside, Violet was elated to welcome Sam Carver back to the Windy City, sharing a sweet reunion as he made his way back to Firehouse 51 for a triumphant return. Violet and Carver instantly fell into their easy candor as she introduced him to his replacement, Vasquez. Carver and Vasquez would prove to be much less chummy.

While settling in at Firehouse 51, Carver learned more about Violet’s new paramedic training program with firefighters, an initiative that Vasquez helped implement within the CFD after becoming Violet’s first experiment. The training program is partially to thank for Violet and Vasquez’s growing closeness, and it didn’t take long for Carver to grow jealous. While Violet missed these social cues, the animosity wasn’t lost on Vasquez, who had a good feeling he knew why Carver had an issue.

Later at Molly’s, the tension between the two men reached a fever pitch after Carver cornered Vasquez to give him a stern warning about Violet deserving the best. Vasquez didn’t tolerate the power play, asking Carver if they had a problem. Carver and Vasquez failed to really connect, largely due to the pair competing for Violet’s affections.

However, Carver’s visit was a short one. Before he made his way back to Colorado, he visited Violet at Firehouse 51 and shared yet another heart-wrenching farewell.

Violet and Vasquez shared a romantic kiss on Chicago Fire

After the emotional day, Violet cut loose by enjoying a few drinks at Molly’s with Novak, Vasquez, and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). While Novak was quick to leave to meet up with Frost from Med, Vasquez was eager to show off his new ride, a “frostbite blue” sports car. Violet told him that she and Stella were gear heads and would love to see, but Stella told them she was hanging back to close up the bar.

As Violet and Vasquez left Molly’s, she was impressed with his hot new set of wheels. The slick ride, plus their unexpected alone time, instantly upped the tension.

“Want a ride?” Vasquez asked smoothly. “I owe you one.”

Violet was tempted by the offer, but hedged, still clearly thinking about her reunion with Carver.

“Honestly, I’m in kind of a bad headspace right now,” Violet confessed. “So it’s better for me to get an Uber and ruin another driver’s night instead.”

“Whatever you say,” Vasquez shrugged before adding, “Hey, Vi? Question for you.”

Violet turned back as Vasquez recalled his first day at Firehouse 51 when Kidd had warned him that he was “replacing one hell of a driver.” Vasquez then asked if that mythic driver was maybe Carver.

“Yeah, that was Carver,” Violet said, suspicious about where this was going. “Why?”

“Well, just so you know, I’m not Carver, OK?” Vasquez said, his tone shifting while closing the distance between him and Violet. “I am nothing like him.”

Caught entirely off guard by Vasquez’s proclamation, Violet went in for a kiss, which was returned in kind. As the pair pulled away from the romantic embrace, Violet told Vasquez that she’d love to take the ride home.
