Sad news: Actress Marisa Ramirez of the ‘Blue Bloods’ series has passed away at the age of 48 md20

Donnie Wahlberg has shared that there’s room for yet another Reagan at the table in Boston Blue.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, the series lead confirmed that another Blue Bloods alum will be making his way to the spinoff series.

According to TVLine, Wahlberg, 56, said during a Television Critics Association panel that Len Cariou — who played patriarch and Danny Reagan’s grandfather, Henry Reagan, in Blue Bloods — will reprise the role in a forthcoming episode of Boston Blue.

Cariou, 86, will make a guest appearance in episode 13, while Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan) will be featured again in episode 17 following her guest role in the pilot, per the outlet. A rep for the show has since confirmed Cariou’s appearance to ENTERT.

Cariou appeared as the recurring character in all 14 seasons of Blue Bloods. “Grandpa Reagan’s going to be showing up and Erin’s going to show up again,” Wahlberg said, per TVLine.

“I think there are layers to all this still, right? So there is, of course, Maria, and I think they’re figuring things out,” he added of his character’s relationship with Maria Baez. “I’m not going to reveal too much… I will just tell you that it’s not resolved, and she will be back in the coming episodes.”

Boston Blue follows Wahlberg’s Danny as he swaps cities in an effort to be closer to his son and Boston Police Department rookie, Sean. In the process, he connects with the Silver law enforcement family as a few familiar faces from the Blue Bloods universe have shown up to break bread — including Moynahan and Marisa Ramirez, who plays his former partner and love interest, Baez.

The spinoff also finds actor Mika Amonsen taking over the role of Danny’s son Sean from Blue Bloods alum Andrew Terraciano. And months after its debut in October, Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck sounded off about the potential of him returning to his role of Frank Reagan.

Speaking with Hour Detroit in November, Selleck, 80, said he didn’t “know if I would do Boston Blue.”

“That’s another show,” he added. “I think it’s partly my lot in life to make sure Blue Bloods has its place in television history, but I don’t think it’s my lot in life to keep playing Frank Reagan.”

Boston Blue returns to CBS on Feb. 27 at 10 p.m. ET and arrives next day on Paramount+.
