The Reagan family lost their youngest son: Will Estes died suddenly at the age of 47 md20

Set another chair at the Silvers’ dinner table, because another one of Danny Reagan’s Blue Bloods relatives is visiting the spinoff Boston Blue.

Len Cariou, who played grandpa Henry Reagan on the mothership series, will guest-star in an upcoming installment of the offshoot, star/executive producer Donnie Wahlberg revealed Tuesday during a virtual Television Critics Association panel. The actor also shared that Bridget Moynahan, who appeared in the series premiere, will return as Danny’s sister Erin, as will Marisa Ramirez as Danny’s girlfriend, Detective Maria Baez. According to Matt’s Inside Line, Cariou will make his Boston Blue debut in Episode 13, while Ramirez resurfaces in Episode 15.

Last time Maria paid a visit to Boston, she and Danny left their relationship on a somewhat ambiguous note. The challenges of a long-distance romance started to weigh on the couple as Maria put the breaks on the idea of Danny turning one of the bedrooms in his new apartment into a space for her daughter. It started to hit Maria that Danny was making a home for himself in Boston and was not currently planning to come back to New York.

“Are we fooling ourselves, Danny? We’re gonna make it, right?” a worried Maria asked while wrapped up in his embrace.

“We’re gonna make it. I know we are,” Danny responded after a brief pause, perhaps trying to convince himself as much as his girlfriend.

Given Danny’s decision to accept a Boston PD badge in the show’s December fall finale, Maria will “have a choice to make” when she next appears, Wahlberg teased. Danny’s other visiting family members will also have “a reaction” to his picking up a Beantown police force badge.
