The One Chicago series are heading on a hiatus in honor of NBC’s coverage of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.
One Chicago Wednesdays have been an emotional rollercoaster as Season 11 of Chicago Med, Season 14 of Chicago Fire, and Season 13 of Chicago P.D. continue delivering high-octane action and gripping drama. But sadly for Chihards who tune in weekly, there will be a bit of a pause on the One Chicago action.
The twists and turns have been endless as these Windy City heroes tackle whatever chaotic crisis comes their way. On Chicago Med, fans have obsessed over the parenting journey Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) and Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) are navigating after their surprise pregnancy. There have also been some surprising Gaffney romances unfurling within the E.D.
Meanwhile on Chicago Fire, power couple Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) have going through a rough patch as seismic shifts within the CFD continue to throw a wrench in Firehouse 51’s happy harmony.
Lastly, from shocking blackmailing schemes to new officers settling in at the Intelligence Unit, Chicago P.D. has delivered its hallmark grit and suspense as these Windy City officers do whatever they can to secure justice.
With so much action and excitement firing off on all cylinders, Chihards can’t wait to see what happens next. Find out why One Chicago Wednesdays have gone on a brief hiatus, below.
Why aren’t there new episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. tonight?
Chicago Fire Season 14, Chicago Med Season 11, and Chicago P.D. Season 14 are all on a brief three-week hiatus throughout February to make way for NBC’s action-packed coverage of the Milan Cortina Winter Games.
While viewers may be in short supply of blazing infernos and high-stakes rescues, sports fans won’t be in any shortage of thrills and chills as the world’s most elite winter athletes flock to northern Italy to go for the gold. Tune in for all the exciting Olympic coverage on NBC and Peacock.

When will new One Chicago episodes return on NBC?
The Windy City heroes will return in the 2026 One Chicago crossover event on Wednesday, March 4. Unlike typical One Chicago Wednesdays, Chicago Fire will lead the cavalry of One Chicago crossover episodes at 8/7c, followed by Chicago Med at 9/8c, and Chicago P.D. at 10/9c on NBC.
The official logline for the three-part One Chicago episode promises, “Firehouse 51 is called to an airfield when a passenger jet suddenly goes silent mid-air, triggering a high-stakes emergency. Their discovery cracks open a bigger and deadlier mystery — one with consequences that could ripple far beyond the runway and put countless lives in jeopardy.”
With two surprise guest appearances from Tracy Spiradakos as Detective Hailey Upton and Jesse Lee Soffer’s Detective Jay Halstead, the 2026 crossover episode will also mark the first time that we see the former P.D. power couple connect since their shocking separation. From romances between Gaffney heartthrobs and Firehouse 51 paramedics to highly-awaited reunions, the 2026 event is already shaping up to be a must-watch.
“We really like when we can have characters have storylines across the shows…,” Chicago Fire producer Reza Tabrizi told NBC Insider. “The [One Chicago] writers’ rooms are close to each other, and there are conversations going on all the time. As far as what’s happening with the characters and how we can engage the characters from other shows in each show. That’s been ongoing since the beginning… I think it’s kept the writers’ rooms close. Even if the show runners have changed, the writers’ rooms’ communications have, if anything, gotten closer over the years.”
