General Hospital fans are singing Alexa Havins’ praises following her performance in the tribute episode to Anthony Geary. One reason she is being singled out is that she led the episode, but never met or worked with the beloved soap legend.

It’s been over a year since Lulu (Havins) woke up from her four-year coma. However, she had yet to deal with losing her father, Luke (the late Anthony Geary), who died during that time.
Geary died last December, making Lulu needing closure over Luke’s death the perfect way to honor the soap legend. The tribute to Geary was filled with emotion and was beautifully done, even if it was missing a few key players.
Havins was the only one in the stand-alone episode who wasn’t a co-star of Geary’s, adding to the “insane pressure” she felt to do the tribute justice. The actress need not worry because she did that and more as Lulu took a trip down memory lane with Tracy, (Jane Elliot), Laura (Genie Francis), Sonny, (Maurice Benard), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), and Carly (Laura Wright).
While her other cast members were dealing with their real grief over Geary, Havins dug deep to make sure fans felt the bond Luke and Lulu had when she was not playing the character. GH fans used social media to give Havins her well-deserved props.
“Alexa Havins was fantastic and [sic] yesterday’s episode. A new fan would never know her Lulu never has seen [sic] with Tony Geary because she played those things so authentic and so natural. Also I absolutely love that they took that shot of Luke walking away from the docks from Tony’s final episode and made it so that it was Lulu seeing Luke’s ghost walking into the afterlife beautifully done,” shared a fan on X.
