BREAKING NEWS: Taylor Kinney officially becomes a father – First images of the baby revealed! md20

After what felt like the longest February ever recorded, March has finally arrived, and with it comes the return of NBC’s One Chicago dramas!

Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD are finally back this week with their first new episodes in a month, after NBC sent the shows on an extended break. This break wasn’t a standard break in the season but one caused by the arrival of the 2026 Winter Olympics, which took over NBC’s schedule across daytime, primetime, and late-night, sending all of our favorite NBC shows on a break to make room for the network’s near-round-the-clock coverage of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

Following the Olympics, we expected that the One Chicago shows would at least return to NBC’s schedule in the final week of February with a night of reruns. Then NBC surprised us by airing a rerun of The Voice season 29 premiere paired with a rerun of Chicago PD, rather than bringing One Chicago fans a night of One Chicago encores.

The good news is that Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD return with new episodes on March 4, but there is a bit of a scheduling shift fans should be prepared for.

Typically, NBC’s Wednesday night begins with Chicago Med at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Chicago Fire at 9 p.m. ET, and concludes with Chicago PD at 10 p.m. ET. That schedule will be adjusted this week, though, with Chicago Fire opening the night and bumping Chicago Med back an hour. This will lead to the following schedule for March 4:

  • 8 p.m. ET: Chicago Fire season 14, episode 13, “The Reckoning, Part 1”
  • 9 p.m. ET: Chicago Med season 11, episode 13, “The Reckoning, Part 2”
  • 10 p.m. ET: Chicago PD season 13, episode 13, “The Reckoning, Part 3”

So why the change? Well, this has to do with the narrative flow for the 2026 One Chicago crossover event. This year, the crossover begins when Firehouse 51 responds to a call at an airfield connected to a missing passenger jet. This then leads to a shocking discovery that cracks open what has been promised to be a bigger and deadlier mystery that will put countless lives in jeopardy.

With the story dictating that the events of the crossover all begin with Firehouse 51 responding to a call, NBC needed to shake up the lineup to help with the flow of the three-episode crossover. This is what led to Chicago Fire opening the night and pushing Chicago Med back an hour from its normal airtime.

We imagine most One Chicago fans keep up with all three shows, but if you happen to be a fan who does not keep up with all three shows, you will want to make sure to set your DVRs so that you don’t miss a minute of the action. As has been the case in past crossover events, the storyline is expected to flow through the three shows, so if you don’t have all three shows scheduled to record, you risk missing a key part of the crossover.

If you do miss a part of the crossover, don’t fret, as you can stream the full event beginning on March 5 on Peacock, which is home to every season of the One Chicago shows.

After we get through the crossover on March 4, we should see things return to normal for the franchise, with Chicago Med and Chicago Fire returning to their usual time slots on March 11. But for this week, prepare for your One Chicago Wednesday lineup to look slightly different with the tweaked crossover schedule.
