Young Sheldon Star Joins Ghosts for a Surprise CBS Family Reunion md13

Young Sheldon wrapped up its run on CBS back in 2024, bringing the origin story of Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper to a satisfying end. Sheldon was the breakout star of The Big Bang Theory, so fans were excited to revisit his early days in the CBS prequel series. Iain Armitage led the ensemble cast, with Parsons voicing the narrator.

As far as Ghosts, it debuted in 2021 and features a couple who inherit a bed-and-breakfast that is inhabited by the ghosts of people who died there during different time periods. Ghosts is in the middle of its fifth season and stars Rose McIver as Samantha and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Jay, the couple who own the haunted estate.

Ghosts soared on PVOD ahead of its Season 5 return, claiming the #1 spot on Amazon’s Top 10 TV shows back on Oct. 19. The surge in Ghosts viewers coincided with the Season 5 premiere, with its PVOD climb taking place across Amazon, iTunes and Paramount+, with the latter making Ghosts available to stream with a subscription.

Fans of The Big Bang Theory are getting a double dose of spinoff goodness with one series airing now, and another coming to HBO Max in the future. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is a spinoff of Young Sheldon, making it another Big Bang Theory prequel. Meanwhile, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is a sequel to Big Bang Theory.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage follows Sheldon’s older brother, Georgie Cooper, and Mandy McAllister, after they get married. The newlyweds have to navigate the age difference — Mandy is 12 years older than Georgie — while raising a family and living with Mandy’s parents. Season 2 is currently airing on CBS.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe brings Kevin Sussman back as Stuart Bloom, who is tasked with saving the multiverse after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard. The logline for the series reads, “Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon.

Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.”
