It’s been over a year since Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple got engaged during the Nov. 13, 2024, finale of The Golden Bachelorette, but fans will likely have to wait another year before the couple say “I do.”
In a joint Instagram reel shared on Monday, Feb. 16, Vassos, 63, and Chapple, 62, answered their most asked questions, including when they plan to tie the knot.
Chapple started off by explaining that family has been their priority. Vassos is a mom of four adult children — Allison, Nicholas, Erica and Luke — whom she welcomed with her late husband, John. Meanwhile, Chapple welcomed daughter Taylor and son Tyler with his ex-wife, Heather.
“In 2025, Joan had a big wedding for her oldest son, Nick. And then she’s got another one getting married this year, so we’ve elected to not compete with them,” Chapple said. “That’s what I’m saying, let them have their year. So you might look for something in 2027.”
Vassos agreed, saying, “Yeah, ’27. Hopefully nobody else will get married, but I think you have a son who possibly could, so we’ll see! We have grown kids and they just happen to be falling into that part of their lives too … We’ll get married sometime when our kids aren’t getting married.”

The couple also addressed why they still don’t live together, reassuring fans that they plan to move in together “one day” once they narrow down the location and aren’t as “busy” with work and travel.
“We haven’t figured out the city yet,” Vassos said, later adding, “When I think about this question, I think it probably won’t be where I live. It probably won’t be where you live, [Chock]. I think we will probably keep our houses and we’ll have a love shack someplace.”
The pair noted that they still “talk every day” and “see each other a lot.”
The bride-to-be also shared that it’s been “super easy” to blend their family.
“We have grown kids, so they’ve liked making friends with each other. Our girls get along great. Our boys get along great,” she said, with Chapple adding, “They all get along great, they do. We’re lucky.”
Vassos continued, “We got really lucky we didn’t have to really merge families. They just are friends, so it was super easy.”
Vassos and Chapple have previously expressed that they’re in no hurry to plan their wedding.
“I think we’re really enjoying where we are right now, and I think if we put that pressure on us, we won’t enjoy what we’re doing now,” Vassos shared during interview with Bachelor Nation in March 2025. “So there’s no rush.”
She added, “We don’t have a biological clock, we’re not having kids, so I think when the time is right we’ll know it and we’ll go and do it! But right now what we’re doing is perfect.”
