Justin Hartley’s crime drama Tracker is proving to be an unexpected competitor for Taylor Sheridan’s media empire. The series is engaging in a new streaming war with the Yellowstone sequel Marshals on Paramount+.
FlixPatrol shows an impressive +3 position jump for Tracker, which moved from sixth place to third on Paramount+’s Top 10 TV Shows in the United States on March 11. Marshals briefly held the crown, surpassing South Park, which returned to its top spot on the charts on the following day. With South Park no longer airing new episodes, it could very well fall down the charts in the upcoming weeks, setting up a tense battle between Tracker and Marshals. Both series have new episodes dropping on the same days — but the chart data is already teasing which one of the two is likely to come out on top in the long run.
Justin Hartley’s Tracker Sees an Impressive Chart Jump in the U.S.
In the battle between Tracker and Marshals, Tracker could only briefly bring in the heat with its meteoric 3-spot rise on March 11, but it slid down 6 spots the following day, landing at #9 as of March 12. Marshals experienced a drop of its own, but slipped only two spots into third, being surpassed by both South Park and NCIS.
Notably, Marshals has a much firmer grip on Paramount+ worldwide, where it is charting in over 25 countries, though the U.S. is the only one where it maintains the top spot. Overall, Sheridan’s numerous series continue to dominate Paramount+ globally.
While South Park still sits as the #1 winner on Paramount+’s Top TV shows in the world, four Sheridan titles occupy the rest of the chart, and all of them are outperforming Marshals. The flagship Yellowstone sits at #3 gloablly, with Landman with Billy Bob Thornton occupying fourth place and Tulsa King charting at #5. On the global charts, Marshals places seventh, while Tracker is notably absent from the charts altogether.
Marshals had its premiere on March 1 as both a spin-off and sequel to Yellowstone, with Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) joining a group of U.S. Marshals who protect Montana. Tracker is currently deep into its third season, which made its premiere back in October 2025. New episodes of both series are expected to continue airing throughout the month, with new episodes dropping on Sundays for Marshals and Tracker.
Yellowstone Fans are Disappointed with Franchise’s New Sequel

While it’s likely that Marshals will pull ahead and win the streaming war when it comes to audience numbers, one thing is already clear: fans are loving the new season of Tracker much more than they are enjoying the latest offering in Sheridan’s universe. Both critics and fans have largely panned the new series, and it sits at a 32% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes with only a slightly better critics’ score of 47%. Tracker Season 3 is performing much better with an audience score of 81%.
Several critics cited Sheridan’s lack of involvement in Marshals to be one of the likely reasons for its shortcomings. The Paramount hitmaker didn’t actively work on the Yellowstone sequel, which was instead created by Spencer Hudnut and based on Sheridan’s beloved characters. The Rotten Tomatoes consensus calls Marshals a “dim procedural that lacks the narrative spark and intrigue that Yellowstone managed instantly.”
Both Tracker and Marshals are now streaming on Paramount+.
