After watching all eight episodes, many fans have caught themselves reminiscing on seasons past… and in particular, season one, released those many moons ago in 2020.
The first instalment of the franchise saw the love story between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) unfold.
After a turbulent start to their relationship, the couple wed and went on to have a baby boy, but that’s actually all we know.

You see, Regé never appeared in the franchise again, missing out on seasons two, three, and four, while Phoebe briefly appeared in season two, which tracked the love story between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma.
We’re halfway through Bridgerton now, there are four more seasons to come; so will Phoebe and Regé-Jean ever return to the ‘Ton?
In an interview with PEOPLE, showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed that she ‘would love to one day have all of the leads come back’.
‘I think it would be really meaningful, especially when I think forward to Hyacinth and Gregory’s story,’ she said, referring to the two youngest Bridgerton siblings.
‘Daphne and Anthony, and their partners, are such paternal/maternal figures for those younger kids. So I would be very interested in trying to get some of those previous leads back for the later run of the show,’ she continued.
Jess later noted: ‘I haven’t spoken to Regé about that. The conversations haven’t happened, but the ideas are there.’
