At this point, it’s anyone’s guess if Kidd and Severide will have a kid in Chicago Fire season 13. Considering everything that is happening in Firehouse 51, not to mention the status of their relationship, it may be for the best that they delay starting a family. As Chief Boden’s prodigies, the team will need them to be focused on the job as they go through this difficult transition. Kidd getting pregnant would eventually force her to do a desk job, which would likely not sit well with her.
Ultimately, starting a family given their circumstances is not ideal. As exciting as the idea is, especially with Matt and Sylvie Casey raising their blended family in Portland, Oregon, the timing just isn’t right yet for Kidd and Severide. There are just way too many things happening in their professional life, while they also have to deal with other issues in their personal arc. If not carefully planned, this may even spell the end of their romance in Chicago Fire.
