There’s some new information about The Summer I Turned Pretty movie!
Deadline is reporting that production will begin on April 27!
They also revealed some salary issues, though there are varying accounts.
Apparently for season 1, the main trio – Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno – earned between $35,000-$40,000 per episode.
With exploding ratings in season two, they apparently went back to negotiate for higher pay for season three. Wiip, the studio, apparently included the upcoming movie in with the negotiation for higher pay in season three, and they obviously agreed.
With contracts for the series tied to the movie, some sources claim the actors felt “under duress” and “forced,” while other insiders say “the actors were all aligned on the idea and went for it.”
It’s thought that Gavin, Christopher, and Lola received a pay bump of about $100K per episode for season three, but Lola apparently made more.
For the film, the actors are all apparently being paid three episodes worth for starring in the new movie.
The site also revealed who from the cast is definitely returning.
Lola Tung as Belly Conklin – Returning!
There’s no question that Lola Tung will be back as Belly Conklin for the film version.
Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher – Returning!
Christopher Briney‘s Conrad will be back. Belly and Conrad had a happy ending in the season three finale, and it’s not yet known how their story will continue in the film.
Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah Fisher – Returning!
Gavin Casalegno‘s Jeremiah Fisher will be back for the movie!
Rain Spencer as Taylor Jewel – Returning!
Deadline shares that Rain Spencer‘s Taylor will be returning for the movie.
Sean Kaufman as Steven Conklin – Returning!
We’ll also see more Steven Conklin.
Steven and Taylor also had their happily ever after…but their explosive nature as a couple can always lead to more storylines, we’re sure!
They planned to move to San Fransisco at the end of season three, so fans are anxious to see where they end up.

Isabella Briggs as Denise – Our Best Guess? Returning!
Denise quickly became a fan fave character as the smart co-worker in Jere and Steven’s office.
Romance bloomed in the season three finale between her and Jeremiah, and fans don’t think that storyline has quite wrapped up yet. We could imaging Isabella Briggs returning for the film.
Jackie Chung as Laurel Park – Our Best Guess? Returning!
Laurel has played such a big role in the series. We can’t imagine she won’t be back!
Colin Ferguson as John Conklin – Our Best Guess? Returning!
Colin Ferguson portrayed Belly’s dad, and the on-again/off-again chemistry with Lauren might be something that could be explored.
Fans also thought his character might be having a health problem…and perhaps that was set up for the film.
Tom Everett Scott as Adam Fisher – Our Best Guess? Returning!
Tom Everett Scott made strides in his relationship with his kids, Jeremiah and Conrad, during season three. And if he shows up…you know he’ll be bringing a box of that Belly/Jere wedding champagne.
We’ll have to wait and see when Prime Video releases anything more official.
