Gerry Turner and Kris Jenner had a lot to discuss — but it’s probably not what you think.
The Golden Bachelor alum, 74, revealed what it was like to meet the iconic matriarch, 69, in his new memoir, Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV. In the book, Turner clarified that despite Kendall Jenner’s comments about his interaction with her mom being flirtatious during a June 2024 episode of The Kardashians, that was not the case.
“Later, Kendall would suggest I had been flirting with her mom, but that’s inaccurate,” Turner wrote. “I was just drawn into her sphere of influence so quickly.”
At the time the episode was filmed, Turner was secretly engaged to now ex-wife Theresa Nist (they split in April 2024 after three months of marriage), and Kris is notably in a relationship with long-term partner Corey Gamble.
Turner wrote that he and the momager had a very “down-to-earth conversation” about hearing aids and her hip replacement. He also shared details about her iconic dish room, and recalled meeting Bad Bunny, who Kendall was dating at the time.
In the episode Turner is referring to, Kendall and Kris hosted the reality star for dinner after sharing that they had been tuning into his debut season of the ABC dating show. When producers asked Kendall how Turner and Kris got along, and if it seemed flirtatious, she said, “Yes.”
“He was commenting on her smile and her eyes and her energy,” Kendall told cameras. “I’m like, ‘I think we should leave, like, I don’t know!’ “
Producers also broached the topic with Kris, and she quipped, “Hey Gerry, I have a boyfriend. Okay?” She then let out a hearty laugh and declared, “Oh lord!”
Earlier in the episode, Kris explained that she invited Turner into her home because “Kendall is a huge Golden Bachelor fan and absolutely obsessed with Gerry. She is beyond, beyond glued to the TV when it comes on.”
“By the way, I’m a huge fan too! Can’t be more excited,” Kris noted.
Kendall, who brought her friend Hannah Cohen to dinner as well, admitted that she was thrilled to meet Turner and raved about her mom’s ability to make it happen.
“My mom in her Kris Jenner ways figured it out, pulled some strings with Disney and Hulu and got Gerry to come over for dinner while the season is airing which is really special,” she said, adding to Hannah that it was “most excited I’ve been in a really long time.”
When Turner arrived, he seemed just as enthusiastic, attempting to FaceTime his daughters so they could say hi to Kris and Kendall. While looking at his phone, Kendall saw that Turner had made several calls to Nist in his call log, which helped her and Kris accomplish their goal of figuring out who he got engaged to at the end of the season.
“I saw it and I felt like I was looking through a boyfriend’s phone and I saw things I shouldn’t have seen,” Kendall joked. “My heart dropped when I saw her name.”
