Game Of Thrones Stars Kit Harington & Sophie Turner Reuniting In New Horror Movie

Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Sophie Turner will reunite outside the world of Westeros, as they’re set to appear in a new horror movie.

Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Sophie Turner are set to reunite in the new horror movie The Dreadful. Fans of HBO’s epic fantasy series shipped Harington’s Jon Snow and Turner’s Sansa Stark, but it wasn’t meant to be for the two characters, who ended up with very different destinies. Now almost five years after the show aired its divisive final season, Harington is set to return for a Game of Thrones spinoff, while Turner’s character remains in limbo.Harington and Turner may never meet again in the world of Westeros, but they will reunite away from GoT, as the pair are set to star together in the upcoming Gothic horror movie The Dreadful (via Deadline). Set during England’s Wars of the Roses, the film stars Turner as Anne, a woman living a hard life on the outskirts of society with her mother-in-law. Harington plays a man from Anne’s past whose return sets off a life-changing series of events. Natasha Kermani (Imitation Girl, Lucky) is writing and directing.

Can The Dreadful Be Natasha Kermani’s Horror Breakthrough?
Kermani made her directorial debut with 2017’s Imitation Girl, a sci-fi mystery about a young woman materializing out of nowhere and discovering she has a twin. The director followed that up with 2020’s Lucky, about a self-help author being targeted by a mysterious man. In 2023, Kermani contributed to the horror anthology V/H/S/85, directing the segment TKNOGD, about a performance artist whose VR show takes a horrific turn.
It’s yet to be seen how The Dreadful builds upon the themes Kermani has introduced in her previous films, but with Harington and Turner joining the cast, the movie feels like a step-up for the director in terms of box office prospects. Kermani has built an impressive resume within the horror genre, and may be ready to break through with her latest project, an intriguing-sounding period-set Gothic horror piece with a mysterious premise and some interesting characters. The Dreadful does not yet have a release date.
